How images are made.

A single photograph of a subject has limited enlargement capability. To get around this limitation, the photographs in this collection are made using a large number of close-up photographs that are combined to form a final image that can be enlarged many times without sacrificing detail. A thousand or more images are often combined to form a single photograph. These techniques enable a small subject such as an ant to be enlarged to the size of a human without loss of detail.
